Mostafa Montazeri

Mostafa is pursuing a PhD in Petroleum Engineering at The University of Adelaide’s School of Chemical Engineering. He previously earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, specialising in separation processes, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Shiraz University, Iran, focusing on refinery, petrochemical and gas. Mostafa has significant industry experience, having worked as a mud engineer and night supervisor in drilling from 2014 to 2016. He later joined the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry in Iran, where he served as a Laboratory assistant and advanced to a senior researcher and project leader in chemical, pressure-volume-temperature and enhanced oil recovery labs. His research centres on underground hydrogen storage, including experimental and modelling work, with expertise in reservoir thermodynamics and chemical reaction design. Currently, he is researching integrated surface facilities and reservoir fluid flow modelling for underground hydrogen storage.
