Sofia holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Novosibirsk State University (Russia). She is passionate about sustainable living and balancing human activity with the nature. Currently, Sofia is researching highly porous materials (particularly MOFs) for CO₂ capture as her PhD project in chemistry at the University of Newcastle and exploring ways to store and utilise CO₂. The aim of the project is to create new adsorbents that are effective and feasible for use in industries to eliminate CO₂ emissions and achieve the net-zero goal. As a creative person, Sofia’s interests include sustainable fashion and meditation as other ways of balancing herself and the world around her.
