Jenny Selway, CEO of the Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre (HILT CRC), has been appointed to a new expert panel which will provide strategic advice on developing a sustainable green metals industry for Australia.

The Industrial Decarbonisation and Green Metals Advisory Panel is a commitment under the Future Made in Australia agenda to support investment in green metals and help heavy industry decarbonise.

Ms Selway will work with the panel to provide independent advice to support the development of policy options on green metals and industry decarbonisation.

“I’m thrilled to be joining an esteemed and experienced group of colleagues to advise the Australian Government on a crucial opportunity for our nation,” she said.

“HILT CRC is dedicating a significant amount of its research towards the opportunities for green metals in Australia, both from an economic perspective and our ability to make a real impact on global carbon emissions.

“Given our world class renewable resources, advancing greener metals production here in Australia is a huge opportunity for both global emissions reduction and the Australian economy.

“It’s exciting to see the focus on green metals as we move towards a Future Made in Australia.”
