Yuecheng is a PhD student at The University of Adelaide's School of Mechanical Engineering, supervised by Dr Alfonso Chinnici, Professor Graham Nathan and Dr Leok Lee. She holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering along with triple bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering (Honours), theoretical physics, and applied mathematics from the same institution. Yuecheng’s PhD project focuses on developing new green thermal pathways for upgrading low-grade Australian iron ore into higher-value products. Her research investigates thermally assisted beneficiation of goethite-hematite ores, with a particular emphasis on how different raw materials respond to various heating methods – especially high-flux radiant heating – to enable more energy-efficient and effective ore processing.
