Viveon Tan

Viv is a PhD student at the University of Adelaide whose research focuses on low-carbon/net-zero steam generation for the Bayer process in alumina refining. He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland. With experience as a production engineer in a petrochemical plant, he brings a strong background in plant operations and process optimisation. Additionally, his work in contact centre management has developed his skills in project management and process improvement. He is passionate about his current research area, aiming to identify and develop viable pathways for decarbonising steam generation in the alumina industry, thereby contributing to broader industrial sustainability and net-zero emission targets.
