Renae O’Hara

Renae has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Aerospace) from the University of Adelaide. Renae participated in the Women in STEM Careers Program in 2020, as well as the Engineers Without Borders Dialogues South Australia Study Tour in 2018. One of her most recent achievements was receiving the Second Place Mechanical Engineering Project Winner at Ingenuity 2021 award for her honours project ‘Precise Aircraft Delivered Air-Sea/Land Survival System.’ With steel demands increasing globally, Renae’s PhD project is focused on mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of the direct reduction of iron ore in a shaft furnace using hydrogen, in order to decrease carbon dioxide emissions associated with ironmaking.
