Nikhil Kirti

Nikhil is a PhD student in the School of Chemical Engineering at The University of Adelaide. With a masters in Chemical Engineering, he is passionate about the energy and environmental challenges related to carbon emission from heavy industry. His prior research focused on biomass kinetics and thermodynamics, and he is now exploring the potential of calcination of clay as a supplementary cementitious material. Employing both modelling as well as experimental approaches, Nikhil aims to explore the morphology and kinetics of clay calcination process to uncover the transformative role of clay in reducing carbon emissions.
