Van Hoang

Van Hoang is a PhD student at Adelaide University, focusing on atomistic modelling of alumina precursor materials under steam conditions within the AlumiNEXTâ„¢ Project. Their current research explores the mechanisms of dehydroxylation, rehydroxylation and water-surface interactions associated with the thermal evolution of alumina precursors using molecular dynamics simulations, with the aim of improving the understanding of alumina calcination under steam processing. They bring experience in applied analytical chemistry at SA Water (AWQC) and industrial chemical engineering at Halliburton Australia, and are skilled in laboratory analysis, process operations and data interpretation. Van is a member of Engineers Australia. Outside of academics, they enjoy going for walks, hiking and engage in creative activities such as gardening and painting.
