Marjan Joulaei
Marjan Joulaei is a PhD student at The University of Adelaide. She holds a Master of Science in Solid-State Physics from Arak University of Technology, Iran. Her doctoral research focuses on advancing the carbonation of iron-oxide-rich mine tailings, such as hematite and goethite, for permanent carbon dioxide (CO₂) sequestration and sustainable mine waste management. Marjan’s work explores innovative pH swing reactor technologies to enhance carbonation efficiency while reducing energy demand. With expertise in green nanomaterials synthesis, materials characterisation, and process optimisation, she aims to develop scalable and environmentally responsible approaches for carbon storage and the valorisation of mine waste. Marjan’s academic research and teaching experience underpin her commitment to practical solutions for climate change mitigation and circular economy practices.
