AN OVERVIEW OF THERMAL-BASED ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS

Join us for our upcoming webinar, presented by Laureate Professor Behdad Moghtaderi, Director of the Priority Research Centre for Frontier Energy Technologies and Utilisation at The University of Newcastle (Australia).

This webinar covers a contemporary overview of thermal-based energy storage systems including sensible and latent heat thermal energy storage as well as thermochemical and thermomechanical energy storage. In the first part of the webinar a general introduction to energy storage is made covering topics as diverse as variation in demand and supply, key objectives and challenges associated with the energy storage, integration of energy storage systems, and finally a classification of energy storage systems.

The second part of the webinar is dedicated to a range of topics on sensible and latent heat thermal energy storage. This is followed by the coverage of thermochemical energy storage (e.g., redox, carbonate, hydride, hydroxide, and sulphur-based systems). Similarly, several topics related to thermomechanical energy storage will also be covered.
