In partnership with Austria, Australia will co-lead the Net-Zero Industries Innovation Mission through HILT CRC and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) to ensure that by 2030, there is a suite of technical solutions available that are sufficiently proven to facilitate the full decarbonisation of heavy industries in multiple regions of the world, by 2050.

HILT CRC has been engaged through the Federal Government to fulfill Australia’s leadership role, coordinating the knowledge sharing benefits and building further international networks. The recently released Roadmap sets out the plan for global knowledge sharing and collaboration that will speed up the development and application of new technologies. These technologies include clean hydrogen, carbon capture storage and re-use, bio-based fuels and renewables for use in heavy industries.
