Naufal Baihaqi Al Afkar

Naufal Baihaqi Al Afkar is a PhD student at Adelaide University, focusing on the hydrodynamics of alumina particle flows in calcination-relevant reactor systems. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Semarang State University, Indonesia, and a master’s degree from Adelaide University. His PhD research explores how particles behave inside a reactor during the calcination process under different fluid-flow and operating conditions, aiming to improve the understanding of particle–fluid dynamics, heat transfer behaviour and operational performance in calciner reactors. He brings experience in fluid dynamics and computational fluid dynamics, while also developing optical assessment methods for particle flow analysis. Naufal is affiliated with Adelaide University's Centre for Energy Technology. Outside of academics, he enjoys photography and travelling.
